Job Introduction
PURPOSE OF POSITION: To lead, direct, and support Assembly Team Members safely and efficiently, to coordinate and communicate with other departments, follow safe work methods, and to conform to the Employee's Charter principles and plant standards.

RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY: Responsible for keeping the lines running efficiently and ensuring that the needs of Assembly Team Members are met to produce a quality product on time, the first time with no personal injuries or mechanical accident, and supporting the policies and procedures of BGM. The Assembly Team Leader is also responsible for providing leadership to Production Team Members while promoting the Employee's Charter and Charter Principles.

Major Responsibilities
1) Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies
2) Ensure daily pre-shift inspections are completed and conduct planned inspection audits on each shift
3) Routinely make visual inspections of emergency evacuation routes correcting any safety concerns immediately
4) Within 24 hours of an accident/incident complete accident investigations identifying root cause and corrective action
5) Conduct weekly safety talks in pre-shift meetings and ensure team members sign safety training roster.
6) Understand and promote Magna's philosophies and Employee's Charter
7) Coordinate and assign job responsibility for team members
8) Maintain open communication and provide continued support to other departments regarding any changes, problems, or special projects
9) Complete and maintain team member performance reviews
10) Achieve first time quality and efficiency to meet production requirements
11) Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
12) Immediately attend to all accidents and injuries and initiate the accident and injury investigation program, while following up to ensure procedure implementation and completion
13) Support company and customer quality systems, continuous improvement and lean manufacturing process
14) Follow and comply with all operational procedures and policies
15) Initiate and administer corrective actions as required
16) Maintain equipment with scheduled preventive maintenance
17) Support the Production, Area and Department/Assistant Department Leaders
18) Monitor and maintain good housekeeping following 5S standards
19) Develop and facilitate on-the-job team member training
20) Help coordinate engineering changes
21) Perform other duties as required

Knowledge and Education
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required

TECHNICAL TRAINING: Weld training preferred

OTHER: Experience with basic Microsoft Word and Excel
